Sliding piece (sliders)
When the zipper is opened or closed, the sliding piece connects or unlocks the elements. Different types of sliders are available depending on the type of use.
Elements
The teeth, also known as elements, are pieces that are on either side of a zipper and get stuck or slip together when a sliding piece passes. When the left and right teeth are involved, they are called chains.
Zip tape
These straps are produced exclusively for use in zippers. They are usually made of polyester, but synthetic fiber tapes, vinyl tapes and cotton tapes are also available depending on the application.
